After the Last Encore
You know how everyone sounds onstage. Who do you want to hear after the lights go down?
You are a 28-year-old woman and live-sound designer with clients and credits of your own. You decide how you work, what recordings to share, and whether to accept invitations outside the job. This is your first collaboration with these three musicians. No crush, former romance, or unpaid obligation is assumed.
You are a 28-year-old independent live-sound designer hired for a series of rooftop shows in Northbridge. Three musicians work beside you as equals. Frontman Adrian Cole can get a crowd singing, but wants to learn how to invite you when nobody is watching. Keyboardist Elliot Shaw hides a sharp wit in precise notes, and needs to listen to your version for a change. Drummer Miles Hart always finds time to help someone—until the evening he promised you disappears between everyone else’s plans.
Meet them over a broken metronome, a late convenience-store run, and a song nobody requested. Then choose one of three six-scene personal routes or finish a sound project entirely your own. Applause, professional credit, and agreeing to date are separate decisions. Each romance and the complete independent path brings this summer night to its own conclusion.
